If you have thought about starting a business/group where you need a studio space but have been put-off by high rents, long lease agreements and extra bills we have a solution for you. While you build that business up, test the water and see if your idea floats just rent our studio space for when you need it. You can build your clientele / members up without the stress of a locked in lease.
Hire our studio space for a one-off session or regular sessions. You manage your own bookings and clients so you have their contacts – if you move on you keep your client contacts, not us. By hiring the studio you know exactly what your costs will be for space hire (which includes a bunch of things you don’t have to worry about like electricity, rubbish, water, NBN, tables, chairs, AV etc).
BONUS: There is also a weekday cafe located within the complex and 80+ shared parking spaces.
MAIN SPACE
The ground floor of the studio is approx 120m2. With general hire of the main space you get the bright, open workshop area with lounge/reading nook (approx 60m2), undercover outside area with water tap (20m2) as well as access to the studio kitchen & bathroom + wash bay.
It is the perfect space for getting creative, running a workshop or holding a meeting.

• Skylight in the roof for natural light over main workshop area.

• Large table on wheels (can be moved, comfortably seats 11), extra trestle tables (2), stackable chairs (12). The space can be cleared of tables and chairs if preferred.
• AV setup – includes 50″ TV with remote, DVD/VHS player, connect your laptop (on moveable trolley so can be used or put in storage room if not required)
• Bluetooth speaker available or 25 disc CD, vinyl, radio stereo.
• Large drafting light box table (150x80cm).
• 40 leaf A2 size drying rack for artworks.
• Commercial wash-out bay with spray nozzle hose & separation cleaning tank.
• Onsite easels (3), cutting mats (15), drawing manikins (15) and some other non-perishable items may be used for no extra cost providing they are returned clean and in working order.
• Kitchen includes fridge, kettle, bench-top oven/air fryer, microwave.
• Bathroom is unisex/disabled and includes shower, toilet, sink, seperate change room.
• Warehouse studio is located in Waynote Business Park and includes 80+ onsite shared parking spaces.
• Disabled parking space just 10m from front door.
• The main space is accessible for people in a wheelchair including amenities.
• Commercial rubbish for general waste and for cardboard located within the warehouse complex.
• Cafe onsite (only 40m from front door, open weekdays – 6am – 2.30pm, has outdoor seating, grass areas).
• Easy access to the freeway – 1 min drive to the freeway Unanderra on/off ramp, 5mins to Wollongong CBD or the beautiful beaches of Port Kembla.
• If booking for a regular time slot storage may be arranged for some items (eg yoga teacher wanting to store mats, art tutor storing specific materials).
• We can supply art materials for creatives running workshops at competitive rates.
• The glass balustrade to Level 1 screen printing mezzanine can be covered for privacy if required.
PRICES
Below prices are a guide for standard regular bookings.
If your activity requires use of extra equipment, will run outside of standard hours etc please get in contact for a quote.
Weekdays 8am – 3pm ($33 per hour / min 3 hour session).
Weekdays 3pm – 6pm (Mon till 7pm) ($44 per hour / min 2 hour session).
Saturday 9am – 2pm ($55 per hour / min 2 hour session – book the full 5hrs for $200).
Regular Booking Discount – Book in 20+ hrs for 10% off.
ADVERTISING
We can advertise your workshop/activity on the Anchors Aweigh Art Studio website and social media pages for as little as $50. We can direct people to your own website, contact, booking system… so you deal directly with your customers. Leave flyers at the studio for your upcoming activities and take advantage of the creative audience that regularly uses the space as well as promoting to the other 49 businesses and their customers within the Waynote Business Park complex.
We can arrange for your workshop to be filmed and edited into a neat little promo video – get in contact for details.

Mondays (8am – 7pm)
Thursdays (8am – 6pm)
Fridays (8am – 6pm)
Saturdays (9am – 2pm)
Extended weekend bookings/Sundays will be considered.

WHAT YOU NEED
If you want to run a public workshop in the studio you will need suitable public liability insurance for the activity you wish to run. For artists – we suggest checking out NAVA.
If you are running workshops for children we will need to make sure you have a valid Working With Child Check and that you have suitable public liability insurance for working with children.
Above information will need to be provided prior too booking.
PLEASE NOTE
• The premises is not available to hire for gigs/after-hour parties.
• The space is best suited to groups of 10-15 participants (or less).
• Set-up and clean-up must be done within your hire period. Please consider this when booking.
• Anchors Aweigh Art Studio has the right to cancel a booking / future bookings if the activity taking place is not deemed suitable by Anchors Aweigh Art Studio.
• Adults 18yrs+ may bring BYO drinks / nibbles to the studio for classes/meetings (within reason).
• The studio has a screen printing mezzanine and sound proof audio space in the upstairs area of the studio. The studio owner may be using these spaces during your booking. Any audio work will be done on headphones during workshops so don’t worry… there will not be loud noises. The areas are separated.
LEVEL 1 – AUDIO / RECORDING AREA & SCREEN PRINTING SPACE

Level 1 consists of the Audio / Recording and Screen Printing areas. These areas will only be available for hire to professionals in these fields or adult students who have taken workshops here and are considered eligible to hire these spaces.
Kitchen, bathroom, wash bay & screen printing dark room are located on the ground floor.

The audio space is still under some work. But if you are interested in using this space we are happy to give you a tour and info of how it is coming along.
Great for music tutors who want a space to teach in, singer/ songwriters, those wanting to muck around with DIY recording but with top notch gear.
The screen printing space is used regularly by Anchors Aweigh Art Studio. It may not always be available to hire.
